Yellow Light Afternoon
Rain outside. Always rain these days, feels like it’s been washin' away the edges of everything. I felt kinda brittle, you know? Like a dried-out leaf ready to snap.
He found me here, in this light, yellow as buttercups.
Just sat on the edge of the sofa, didn’t say much at first. Just watched me with those eyes that see past all the noise. Brought me coffee, dark and strong enough to bite back the chill.
We didn't need words much then. Just a slow sort of melting. A feeling like coming home to a place you never knew you missed.
Now I’s just feelin the warmth lingerin'. Like sunlight on skin after the storm lets up. Simple as that, really. Just enough light for now.
