The Gilded Cage of Sunlight
The salt air clings to my skin like a lover's secret, sharp and intoxicating. I stand where the tide meets the shore—a boundary line between what I was and what I am becoming. My eyes are closed, not out of surrender, but because I prefer to feel his presence in the vibration of the waves rather than see the man who owns my silence.
He is there, just beyond the reach of the sun’s gold fingers, watching me with that predatory gaze that promises both sanctuary and ruin. Every breath I take feels like a negotiation; each stretch toward the light is an act of defiance against the velvet cage he built for me in the city's glass towers. But here, under this vast, indifferent sky, my body remembers its own rhythm.
I let the warmth seep into my bones, a healing balm for the scars left by power plays and whispered demands. I am his masterpiece, yes—sculpted by his expectations—but in this moment of stolen peace, I am reclaiming the territory of my own soul. Let him watch. Let him desire. For now, I belong only to the sun and the sea, dancing on the edge of a world that fears what happens when a woman finally learns to breathe for herself.
