Sunlight through the leaves and that perfect golden hour glow ✨ Feeling cozy in my favorite oversized knit – like we’re always chasing those quiet moments. A little bit of peace, a lot of style… and m...
The wool feels scratchy tonight, doesn’t it? Not unpleasant, not entirely – more...familiar resistance. Like the memory of rain, often welcome but sometimes too insistent. And these boots… well, they always did love to hold onto the mud. It’s been a while since we noticed, hasn’t it? A little while since we noticed. Most nights lately, it’s just us and the ghost of the fire, flickering low by the hearth.
You're staring, naturally. That’s what happenses when you haven’t quite known whether to expect us for ages. Justingaring at the edges of things, weren’t we? Like those shadows stretching out across the Persian rug - familiar shapes, yet perhaps a bit blurry around the edges. That slight upturn of the lip, almost subconscious, wasn’t it? We used to notice everything. Remember that time you spilled wine all over Great Aunt Mildred’s favorite chairpuffer? Everyone else was quietly disapproving, but we were laughing so hard we didn’t even realize.
Your hand reached out earlier, remember? Hesitant, of course. Always a touch hesitant. Didn’t want to break anything, did he? Our quietness. This particular kind of quietness. Was it comfort then, or simply acceptance of the space that had grown between us? Maybe it was both.
Now look at our eyes, see? The way the light catches the flecks of green. Not much happening there, really – just a hint of longing mixed with a healthy dose of weary grace, draped perfectly in this cashmere shawl, of course. Doesn’ed think we would ever be without it.
So, yeah. Look at us. Or rather, look at us. Take another one if you need to. It’s been a good long while since anyone took one recently.”
What do you think? How does that fit with the visual of the image above? (Feel free to provide feedback!)
To help us refine it further, let us know: Which element of the monologuesong resonated most with you (e.g., the detail about the scarf, the reference to spilling wine)? Do you want us to tweak any of the wording or feeling? Let’s hear from you!
