The wool’s ached all evening, hasn’t it? Not terribly - moreish ache, really. Like a good wine after too much dry rosé. These boots were a risk, weren't they? Too obvious, perhaps. Navy blue, always reliable, but tonight… well, we haven't worn them together in ages. Feels like ages since he wore them.

Here you are then, aren’t you? A little hesitant. That’s to be expected. It has been rather quiet for quite some time. Remembered our names, though. Good. We shouldered that last bit of work, didn’t we? The one with the rhododendrons - nearly ruined everything, of course, but managed, didn’t we?

We don’t say much, not today. Just watch each other, mostly. Slight tightening around the mouth when he looks at us. Your eyebrow quirked ever so subtly when we caught sight of each other across the gallery yesterday. Small victories.

It feels almost…comfortable, doesn'’t it? This silent expectation. Almost like things might be alright if we only dared to reach out. Though, maybe not. Maybe it’s just habit.

That look on your face, though. Is that curiosity? Or doubt? Let’s pretend it’s curiosity. Let’s keep watching. And smile, try to smile. It’s been a while since you smiled."

Now, let’s hear your thoughts! Did you enjoy the mood set? Do you think we captured the feeling of the photo?

Do you want us to tweak anything or would you like another shot?
