(SCENE START)

SOUND of chatter, sizzling street food, gentle lute music

WIDE SHOT - ELARA (28), a charmingly messy artist, is struggling slightly to carry a stack of canvases back to her stall after setting up, nearly bumping into several shoppers. She smiles anyway, oblivious to the near-disaster.

A close by stall has LIAM (30) – handsome but a little too focused on his perfectly brewed coffee, a slight furrow between his eyebrows as he considers whether or not to try another biscuit. He's an architect, effortlessly stylish even amongst the chaos.

Elara stumbles, a canvas wobbling precariously…

SLOW MOTION - The canvas almost hits Liam's meticulously styled hair!

But just before disaster strikes, a hand reaches out...

CLOSE UP - Hands touch – Elara’s paint-stained fingers against Liam's smooth ones. For a beat, everything stills. They look up.

ELARA (Slightly breathless) Sorry about that! Didn’t mean to threaten your caffeine.

LIAM (Smiling warmly) No worries. It was blocking our view of the peach stand.”

They both laugh, a little shyly.

MEDIUM SHOT - Cut to them watching a vendor sell particularly juicy peaches. They exchange glances, mugs of coffee warming their hands.

ELARA (Pointing at a painting) Think you like this one? We call it ‘Summer Daze.’

She gestures to a bright, impressionistic painting of the very market they’re in now.

LIAM It’s lovely. Very chaotic. Like the market itself."

He grins, eyes twinkling.

CUT TO - Close-up shot of their hands brushing as they reach for the same slice of watermelon being offered by the vendor.

MONTAGE – Short, quick shots of them throughout the afternoon:

  • Laughing while wrestling with a pile of fabric.
  • Sharing a plate of grilled halloumi.
  • Watching the sunset over the stalls, glasses of wine in hand.

BACK TO SCENE – Evening arrives. The market vendors start packing away.

ELARA & LIAM – Standing outside Elara', stall, laden down with art supplies. One of Elara’s paintings sits nestled among them—a beautiful watercolor of a rose bush.

LIAM So, how much for the rose bush?”

ELARA (Hesitantly) Well, we were thinking... maybe two coffees?"

Another smile. This time, more confident. As she turns to grab her purse, her sleeve brushes against her own paint splattered arm. Liam catches her wrist gently.

CLOSEUP - Their faces, inches apart. Perfect lighting.

LIAM We thought so”.

Final Shot - Wide angle showing them hug each other, unaware of everyone else around them - a casual embrace filled with warmth and promise.

FADE OUT.
