Sun-kissed skin, perfect waves, and a feeling of pure bliss ✨ What could be better?
(Picture shows two people – maybe them sharing a coffee in a cozy cafe, or laughing as they dodge raindrops on their way home.)
The rain was doing its usual grumpy job of turninging the city street into a silver sheet. It wasn't bad rain, not really—just…persistent. And slightly dampening everyone’s mood, except perhaps theirs.
Eliza had been running late again. A classic Eliza thing; always chasing deadlines and perfectly brewed lattes, often by five minutes. A freelance illustrator known for her charmingly chaotic sketches and an almost-but-not-quite-perfect studio apartment filled with rescued books and half-empty teacups. She hadn’t noticed how long she’d been gone until she nearly bumpeded right into him.
Liam. Tallish, perpetually bundled up in a worn leather jacket, and owner of the most wonderfully distracted smile. He worked at “The Cozy Corner” café just around the corner from her place – a sanctuary of warm mugs and comforting smells, especially when the weather outside was less than ideal. They’d seen each other regularly over the past few months – a familiar face behind a stack of sketchbooks, a shared chuckle during a particularly noisy morning rush. But tonight felt different. Tonight, the drizzle seemed like more than just a nuisance.
Tonight, she was drenched. Not dramatically so, mind you – more a delightful sheen of wetness here and there. Her red scarf, which usually fought bravely against the chaos, was now trailing in ribbons across the pavement.
"Bit nippy out," Liam said, his voice low and easy, noticing her near-total obliviousness. He held out a hand to catch one of those rebellious strands of hair that threatened to tumble onto her sketchpad.
“Definitely,” Elzba came back, eyes still glued to her drawing, a whimsical illustration of a sleeping cat.
They both laughed, a little sound lost amongst the hiss of the rain and the clinking of cups inside The Coziest Corner. Inside, warmth enveloped them – the heat of the brew they were nursing, of course, but also a growing warmth between them.
It started subtly. The comfortable silence while they watched customers. The accidental brush of hands when reaching for the last croissant. Now, theyre sitting together, huddled over a table littered withinepencious mess -inseparable.
Suddenly, a droplet splashed onto Elza's sketchbook, ruining one of her drawings. A small sigh escaped her lips – nothing dramatic, just...a sigh. Liam didn’s notice. Or did he?
He reached for the mug, tilting it gently towards her cup, a stray drop splashing onto her chin.
And then, without quite meaning to, his finger brushed hers.
Time slowed down. The world narrowed to this single moment: the scent of coffee, the soft rumble of the rain, the delicious feeling of being completely present. Their noses got close enough that they could feel eachother breath.
Then, a slight hesitation, a shy smile, and suddenly, their fingers weren’t quite so reluctant to touch anymore.
Maybe it was a kiss. Maybe not. Either way, it was perfect.
As if remembering the connection, they turn to find themselves smiling at each other, the rain continuing to fall, oblivious to the magic happening within.”
