Static Between Heartbeats
The city hummed, a low-frequency throb against my skin. A mechanical heartbeat mirroring the one that quickened when *he* was near.
I adjusted the collar of my suit – armor for a battlefield far more complex than any warzone. The fabric felt like a restraint, yet I craved it. Craved the friction, the weight, the subtle pressure against skin starved for touch. He said he liked this side of me—the polished exterior that hinted at something wild underneath.
The scent of rain clung to him when he entered, a primal aroma that short-circuited my composure. I hadn’t expected him. Not here. The air crackled with the unspoken tension, electric and raw. His gaze locked onto mine, acknowledging the magnetic pull between us – a force we both struggled to deny.
He didn't need words; his eyes spoke volumes of a shared desire that burned beneath the surface. Just a simple shift in posture, a subtle intake of breath…and I knew he felt it too—this dangerous allure. A single touch could ignite everything.
