Salt & Sunlight Serenade
The sand still held the warmth of yesterday’s sun, a delicious echo against my skin.
It felt… good. Really good. Like letting go of everything that tangled me up – the deadlines, the worries, even the faint ache in my heart.
He found me sketching by the water, lost in trying to capture the way the light danced on the waves. Liam. Just saying his name felt like a tiny burst of sunshine.
He didn’t say anything at first, just sat beside me, letting the quietness settle between us, punctuated only by the gentle crash of the ocean.
Then he offered me a seashell – pearly white with swirling patterns. ‘For you,’ he murmured, his voice as smooth as the sand beneath our feet.
It wasn’t grand or dramatic. It was simply… present. A small gesture filled with an unexpected warmth that melted away the last of my chill.
We watched the sunset bleed across the sky – oranges and pinks and golds, like a whispered promise of new beginnings.
His hand brushed mine as he pointed out a distant sailboat, a silent invitation to adventure.
Being here, with him, felt like coming home, not to a place, but to a feeling. A quiet, beautiful knowing that sometimes, the greatest healing comes from simply allowing yourself to be bathed in the light of someone else's kindness.
