We haven't spoken properly in months, has it been months? Since it all fell apart, of course. The argument was about the lilies – yours were always so perfectly pruned, compared to hers. Though, maybe that wasn't about the lilies... More likely, everything usually is.

See the way your fingers trace the edge of the cuff of your shirt? Subtle, isn’t it? Doesn’t want to admit anything too obvious. We both knew, back then, hadn’t we? Knew the drinks had been flowing, the conversationiesed, the silences grew longer until they started echoing.
