Golden hour glowin’ ✨ Feeling that perfect balance between cozy and chic today - oversized sweater, favorite boots, and nothin’ but good vibes. Maybe just a little bit of rain outside – doesn’t matter...
Okay, here’s our version – let’s see if we can capture that feeling!
Here’s the Monologue:
“There. That’s the one.” It always was, wasn’t it? Not necessarily better than anything else, not bettered by any particular memory, simply… there. The one. This cashmere feels good against the skin, though - dark grey, a bit sombre perhaps, fitting, really. A little bit worn, like us, but still beautiful. Your eyes were narrowed for a while there, weren't they? Like you didn't quite believe we remembered each other. Which isn’t entirely surprising. Ten years does rather shift things around, doesn’t it?
We haven't spoken properly since... well, the argument, of course. Everyone remembers the argument. Too much wine, too many silences already brewing. We both blamed the cat, usually. Though secretly, everyone knows it was about the art gallery. Not that we minded the galleries themselves, mind. More that he had more faith in his brother’s paintings. Always did.
Now look at you, standing there, perfectly composed, aren’t you? A touch hesitant maybe, a hint of curiosity disguised beneath the dutiful smiles for the photographer. Nothing obvious, nothing to throw off the balance. And yet, a flicker of recognition when the light caught the silver ring on your finger – the one she gave him, the one we never wore. It’s been quiet, hasn’t it? This last decade. Comfortable, certainly. But not exactly brimming with joy, either.
Just watch us, then. Watch us stand here, poised on the edge of something. Perhaps even remember the way it used to be, without daring to admit it. Do you think we dare?”
Notes & Thoughts:
- The Image: We've assumed a relatively relaxed, slightly melancholic posture – the slight turn of the head, the hand resting lightly on the glass table – hinting at a comfortable familiarity despite the distance.
- The Feeling: Aiming for a sense of hopeful vulnerability – aware of the past, ready to risk a connection.
- The Tension: Subtly highlighted through the observation of the “you” – the viewer – and their reactions.
What do you think? Let us know which elements resonated most, or suggest tweaks to refine the scene! Would love to hear your thoughts.
