Golden hour glowin’ ✨ Feeling that perfect balance between cozy and chic today - curled up with my favorite coffee (and maybees one for the camera!). Simple pleasures like these make everything feel ...
The wool feels scratchy tonight, doesn’t it? Not unpleasant, not exactly – more…familiar. Like an old friend who occasionally forgets to brush their hair. That blue has been here for years, hasn’t it? This cardigan, meaning since he said we were too loud. A touch dramatic, perhaps, but hardly unreasonable. We did love each other so fiercely. Or thought we did.
Here you are then, aren’t you? Standing there, all quiet observation. The light caught your eye nicely today, didn’t it? Thought you might notice the way the dust motes danced around the fireplace – hadn’t noticed them much lately, had we? Probably not. Too busy frowning. It wasn’t always like this, was it? More than five years ago, everything felt a little brighter, a little easier. Lessens to be taken, certainly – one too many, maybe.
That slight turn of the chin – haven’t done that in ages. Small thing, really. But noticeable. Did you see the silver catch the light when you turned? Remembered that necklace, didn’t we? Your grandmother gave it to us, remember? Such a fuss about which ring to wear...
A bit of tension, yes. Always some tension. Mostly unspoken, isn’so? More comfortable that way, usually. Easier to bear than admit where things went wrong. Was it the rain after the garden party? Our fault, naturally. Didn't know how to dry off.
Now, look at us. Still standing here, five years later. Just you and us. Go on. Look closer. Doesn’t seem quite so daunting, does it?”
