Golden hour glowin’ – and we love it! Feeling cozy in my favorite oversized knit today, curled up with a good book and maybe just a little bit of cat hair (don’t tell!). Simple moments like these are ...

Here’s the Monologue:

“There. Still wearing them, aren’t we?” I murmur, voice barely louder than the ticking grandfather clock lurking in the corner, although likely not even aware of its existence. A bit dusty, those shoes - Italian leather, naturally, ridiculous price for something so worn… but our colour. That deep, rich burgundy hasn’t faded quite yet, has it? Not like everything else.

It’s been longer than should have been, really. Ten years. Maybe more. Since he was last here, all bright smiles and easy confidence, oblivious to the waywardness simmering beneath the surface then too, of course. We were always a little unruly, weren’t we? Like wind through leaves, beautiful and often disruptive.

See the angle of your eye there, you do. A flicker of amusement, perhaps? Or maybe a touch of trepidation. It could be either, shouldn't it? After all, these eyes haven’t seen much change lately, only reflected back the quiet acceptance of solitude. The good kind, mostly. Though sometimes...sometimes a hint of longing catches in them, doesn't it?

Your coat looks familiar. Too warm, probably. He liked to keep everyone comfortable. Right down to the crease in the sleeve. We never did truly say goodbye, did we? Just drifted apart, slowly, silently, until one day, we were simply acknowledging each other again.

Just now, when the light caught his hair, a spark. For a heartbeat, it felt almost like old times. Now, of course, it'ed fade. These things tend to, don't they? So go ahead, look at us. Don't stare too hard. There's nothing to fear, unless you count the possibility of another awkward silence."
