Golden hour glowin’ and feeling it! Lately, everything feels like a cozy dream – maybe curled up with a book and a cupa tea (or two!) - just us and the softest knitwear. Absolutely loved this look tod...
“Here we are then,” I say, voice barely louder than a sigh, not quite sure if you noticed the dust motes dancing in the afternoon light for the last five minutes. It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Five years since the papers were signed, seven since the rain started to fall without so much hesitant echo. This cardigan, haven’t you always liked this one? A little bit rumpled, certainly, probably wrestled off the bed after another late night spent chasing the words—or maybe just the memory of them.
It feels odd, doesn’t it? The quiet. Not our quiet, necessarily. More...familiar. Like the ticking clock on the grandfather clock downstairs – reliable, reassuringly slow. Though sometimes, isn’t it a touch too familiar? Almost…comfortable to be here, almost willing to stay still, even with the slight prickle of expectation.
Your gaze has been drifting towards the fireplace for ages, hadn’t it? Thatched somehow, those logs – perfectly imperfect, just like everything used to be. Or was that only yesterday? You shifted when we said hello, didn’t you? Just a subtle shift, like you weren't entirely certain you wanted to be here either. And there’ed that flicker in your eye – doubt, perhaps? Or something else?
We both know what happened, don’t we? After all, it wasn't exactly a grand disaster. Just a gentle letting go, a silent agreement that sometimes, being alone could be harder than facing each other. But enough time has passed, hasn't it? Enough that the edges began to soften.
So look at us then – a mess, a comfort zone, a chance. Now smile.”
