Probably more truth than most people do about us.

Like you remember the scent of rain on dark hair, but haven’t quite worked out where it was last seen. Funny, isn’t it? How easily details can fade. We both did, didn’t we? Noticed, briefly, when the light hit just so yesterday, remembered the warmth of the wine glasses, almost forgot the arguments were always brewing underneath.

Or was it just the memory of those scones last time, baked with perfectly browned butter, melted into contentment. Almost felt likeable then, all that chaos.
