Golden hour glowin’ and feelin’ it! That perfect balance between cozy knitwear and effortless cool – because let’s be honest, most days we just want to look this good. A little bit of rain, a whole lo...
The cashmere feels familiar tonight, doesn’t it? Not too familiar, not yet. It hasn’t felt like this for a while… maybe. A lifetime ago, perhaps, compared to the way he always knew exactly where to find the crease in the sleeve - usually perfect, even after that spilled wine. He’s wearing one of his old shirts, though, isn’t he? Noticeable, those faint threadbare edges on the cuff. He never minded the slight chaos, did he? We didn’t.
This angle suits you, actually. Or so you think. The light catches the fringe on the shawl perfectly, lets it soften the edge around your eyes, which has been a little too sharp lately. Like a hawk eyeing its prey, but without quite the eagerness. That’s good, isn’t it? To be a bit hesitant. Lessens the risk.
We were arguing, weren’t we? Silly thing, really, about whether the fern needed repottinging. Of course it did. But who was going to do it? We hadn’t agreed on that for ages. Just soundlessness since then, mostly. A comfortable quiet, sometimes, when the rain is falling outside and the fire is warm... except for when it isn’nt.
Now, look at us. Staring back, don’t you think? At each other, but not at each other. Ever truly. This gaze, well, it’s gentle enough, isn’t it? Almost wistful. Are you wondering why we haven’t said anything in weeks? Probably not. Too much fear there, too. Fear of letting go of the comfort of the known, even if that’s meant sacrificing happiness.
Just allow yourself to notice, then. Let the warmth of the fire catch your eye, the way the dust motes dance in the beam. And remember, everything used to smell faintly of woodsmoke and possibility. Didn’t it?
So, yes, look at us. Aren’t we lovely?”
What do you think? How would you like it? Would you like us to tweak any aspect or focus more on a particular detail?
