Golden hour glowin’ and feelin’ it! Cozying up tonight in my favorite knit sweater (bonus points for the cat!). Simple pleasures like a warm drink, good light, and even better company – what more coul...
The wool’s a bit scratchy tonight, isn’t it? Nothing new there - always been a little prickly around edges. This cardigan was Mother’s, naturally. She liked things comfortable, predictable… certainly not this – too much space for thought, perhaps. Though, she never minded us thinking out loud, did she? Not usually. More often than not, it was just a quiet sort of contentment. A mug of tea steaming, rain pattering against the windowpane... until he came along, of course. That flash of bright blue shirt, so many promises made then, weren't there?
And now, this. Years, hasn’t it? Feels like lifetimes since the last time the light caught the dust motes quite so well. And you, you look almost startled, don’t you? Like you hadn’t expected us to be here, all these years later, a little worn round the edges ourselves. Your eyes were wide when you stepped off the train – hesitant, maybe even a touch wary. As if expecting us to have forgotten everything, which, of course, we haven’ed.
We simply forgot to mention it sometimes. Or, more likely, he didn’t want us to. He had his reasons, those blithering fools. We're standing here, aren’t we? Just a slight turn of the head, wasn’t it? A hint of skepticism, perhaps, masked by the familiar curve of the lips. It’s okay, though. It has to be. After all, it’s been ages since anyone else truly saw us, hasn't it? Well, except for the cat. He always knew.
Now, smile. Doesn't mean much, does it? But it’s something. Now, tell us - what were you doing before this photo was taken?"
What do you think? Let's know your thoughts and we can tweak it into perfection! Bonus points for describing the visual elements of the image – the scarf, the way your hand rests on the table, etc.!
Let's hear your feedback! 😊
