Familiar, even. And for once, we haven’t foughted it. Or perhaps we have, subtly. That slight tightening around the mouth, hasn’t it? We both know about it. It's been there ever since he mentioned those dahlias, didn’t it? Such a simple thing, really - ‘darlings’, he said, with such easy confidence. Like it was an obviousness, wasn’t it?
