The Story: "Rainy Day Blooms"

Scene: A Bustling Bookstore - Rainy Day

SOUND of gentle rain against the window, quiet chatter of customers.

VISUALS: The camera focuses on ELARA (28), effortlessly chic but slightly bundled up in an oversized scarf, as she navigates the bookshelves, searching for a gift for her brother's birthday. She sighs, overwhelmed by choice…and thends into a display of beautiful potted plants – specifically, vibrant purple Hyacinth bulbs.

Suddenly, a book cart bumps hers. A few perfectly formed buds tumble onto the floor...

Enter LIAM (30)

(He's handsome, not-dashingly so, more charmingly rumpled - maybe a coffee stain on his shirt!) He's laughing with another customer when he notices Elara gathering the hyacinth bulbs.

LIAM is a regular at the bookstore, quietly observant. Has been for years, often forgets to notice.

ELARAs voice, hesitant, “Oh dear, hope they weren’t too much trouble.”

The Exchange

LIAM steps forward, smiles warmly. “Not at all,” he says simply, picking up one bulb. “They looked lovely."

Close Up - their hands brush briefly as they both reach for the same bulb. Slight hesitation, subtle smile.

Sound of Rain drops.

Coffee Break & Bookshelves

Weeks go by. They start noticing each other—a shared glance across the room, a small nod when they bump shoulders. One rainy afternoon, after lunch (which wasting near the cafe downstairs).

ELARA is lost in thought, tracing the spines of the classics shelf. Liam has set down his cup of tea, and there'"s now a stray droplet from his glass resting on the cover of the book he’s reading - ‘Wuthering Heights’.

CLOSE UP - their eyes meet. Longing, almost unspoken.

The Cozy Corner

Months later, back amongst the shelves. Elara finds herself seeking refuge in a comfortable armchair in the corner – which happens to be next to Liam, who’s happily engrossed in a book himself.

She doesn't want to intrude, just need a little peace and quiet... until she catches sight of him.

LATER - It's evening, the rain still falling gently. Both are browsing the bookstore collection; turning pages, looking relaxed. Suddenly, ELARS footbumps Liams. They look up, startled, yet delighted.

SLOW MOTION shot - as they stare into each other's eyes.

The Bloom

Final shot: Close up on the couple as they step out of the bookstore doors together, hand in hand, braving the rain. Perfect shot of those beautiful Hyacinth bulbs nestled in Elaras bag.

LINGERING SHOT - As they walk off frame, one of the petals falls off, drifting towards the street.
