Golden hour glow & perfect pouts ✨ Loving every minute of this life!
The Coffee Shop Crush
Picture: A close-up shot of two hands reaching across a table - one is holding a mug of coffee, the other a half-eaten croissant. Both hands are slightly tanned and have fingernails painted different colors (one pink, one navy).
Scene: Cozy Corner Café - Day
SOUND: Gentle jazz music playing in the background, clinking mugs, quiet chatter.
(SCENE START)
A warm glow from the pendant lights highlights dust motes dancing in the air as ELARA (28), with bright pink nails, happily takes another bite of her flaky croissant. She’s engrossed in her book – a dog-eared copy of “One Hundred Years of Solitude” – oblivious to everything but the perfect turn of phrase... almost.
Suddenly, a hand reaches out. Not aggressively, not awkwardly…just gently. It’s Liam’s (30) – his dark hairchesn which he has perfectly captured on camera many times. He’s been subtly eyeing her pastry for five minutes. His fingers, a little more weathered than Elara’s, cup her mug of latte beautifully.
ELARA
(Smiling faintly, without looking up)
“Mmm, delicious.”
LIAM
(Softly, a hint of nervousness in his voice)
"It was."
He smiles back at her, a genuine smile that crinkles the corner of his eyes. We see him through the lens of the glass mug as they both take a sip.
The scene fades into a short montage of small moments - them laughing over spilled milk (okay, maybe not that much!), a shared steaming cappuccino after a particularly delightful sentence read by Elara, a near disaster when she nearly knocked over her tea while walking past.
Each moment is simple, comfortable, familiar. Like old friends who didn' (always!) get along.
But there's always this slight hesitation too, a subtle awareness of each other – their hands brush accidentally as they reach for the sugar bowl; a glance exchanged during a passing conversation about the café’s excellent sourdough.
Now, our duo are sitting together at the cozy table again, lost in thought. They haven’t spoken in a minute or two.
Then, Liam shifts closer, his elbow brushing hers. They don’t notice.
Finally, he nudges her shoulder playfully.
LIAM
(Quietly)
“Nice reading.”
Elara looks down at her book, then back at Liam, a blush rising on her cheeks.
ELARA
("Of course.")
She leans forward slightly, tilting her head towards the camera. And just like that, those hands – pink versus navy – touch again. This time, no resistance.
They hold for a beat longer. The sound of the jazz swells.
And everyone knows...this is only the beginning.
