The silk feels cool against bare skin, doesn't it? A slight rebellion against the chill creeping in – not always external, of course. More often than not, it’s the one inside us all. It has been for a while now, hasn’t it? That little tremor in the hand when he walks past - yes, him - though we didn’t name him exactly. Just “Him,” naturally. Less daunting than a memory, wasn’t it? Usually.

We haven't spoken much lately, really. Not truly. Just theseances every few months, dutiful smiles exchanged over tea that never quite reached scalding hot.
