Golden hour glow and feeling like it’s ours to keep... Sometimes all we need is a cozy sweater, a perfect cup of tea, and a little bit of quiet. Loving this simple moment of peace as much as you do! ✨
Here goes…
“The wool’s alwayschedy, hasn’t it?” We’re wearing his favorite scarf, of course - a bit too much corduroy for comfort sometimes, but he loved the way it smelled of woodsmoke and rain. It was a good smell. A familiar one. For years, everything felt like that, didn't it? Like a comfortable well, even when the water wasn’t perfectly clear. Except...it stopped being so quiet, did it? Not entirely, not until that night, though nobody wants to admit which one of us blamed ourselves most.
Now you’re here, aren’t we? Or perhaps we’re imagining you were. Your camera hangs around the neck quite elegantly, doesn't it? No obvious fussing with it, no particular need to catch us off guard. Which is nice. Though some nights, the stillness feels more like an assessment than acceptance.
This look on our face – does it seem tired? Defensive? Perhaps both. He used to say we had eyes like sea glass, smooth and a little frosted over by time. But those cracks haven’t beeniced yet, have they? The slight turn of the lip, the way the light catches the dust motes dancing in the afternoon sun – almost lost track of time, really. Almost forgotten about the mess, the arguments, the perfect cups of tea brewed every morning.
It’s all rather subtle, isn’t it? This questioning gaze back at you. Did we do something wrong? Was it us, or maybe just the storm outside? A small smile, then. That's progress. Don't be afraid to notice it. After all, hadn’t we agreed that even the silent moments could be beautiful? So go ahead, keep watching. Just don't blink.”
What do you think? How would you like us to refine it – more melancholic? More defiant? Let us know!
