Golden hour glow and favorite sweatered vibes ✨ Feeling perfectly cozy here in our little corner of the city today – like we’ve found our happy place. A little bit of rain, a whole lot of peace…what c...
The wool feels scratchy tonight, doesn’t it? Not particularly comfortable, not unpleasant - more...familiar. Like an old friend who occasionally forgets to brush their hair. That blue has always been a good shade for us, hasn’t it? This one, anyway. Not quite the blue of Paris, but close enough to remember. It’s been a while since we were in Paris, hasn’t it? Too many miles between here and there lately, don’t think either of us said much about it when he last visited. He liked his coffee strong, that man. We certainly weren't shy about letting him know when he didn't.
Here you are then, aren’t you? Standing there, quiet. Not entirely unfamiliar with the stillness, these days. Usually, there's a camera shutter sound, or the rumble of expectation – everyone expects something, after all. Even if it’s just another photograph, another perfectly captured moment of the vaguely melancholic woman in the blue dress.
We haven’t spoken yet, obviously. A slight shift in posture, a tilt of the head, perhaps - subtle things. Maybe too subtle. Did we miss the sigh? Probably. Everyone misses the sighs eventually.
That crease in the fabric by your eye - was it the summer dress, when everything felt easier? Or the grey scarf, during the rainiest winter? Doesn’t matter, really. The point is, you're here. And the clock isn'ed ticking down so fast without a trace.
So go ahead, look at us. Look at us. It’s not like we’ve had many moments like these recently. Just try not to stare too hard. Afterall, we both know it wasn’t always perfect. Was it? Well, almost never.”
Now over to you! Let us know what you thought and whether you would like us to tweak anything – maybe increase the melancholy, or add a touch more defiance!
