Golden hour glow and favorite sweater weather – that’s what it’s all about! Feeling cozy and content nestled up here with my pup (whoever needed a cuddle more than us!). Simple joys, beautiful moments...
Okay, here’s our take – let’s see!
The wool is scratchy tonight, isn’t it? Not terribly so, not usually. It has been our wool for years - inherited, really, after all. This skirt was your mother’s favorite, wasn’t it? The one with the slight pilling near the hem, almost imperceptible unless we look closely enough. And you haven’t looked quite so closely lately. Or perhaps you do, but only when no one else is watching – which is often, these days. We prefer it that way sometimes, don't we? A quiet comfort. Except…it doesn’t always feel so comfortable anymore.
We were arguing last week about the roses, didn’t realize it until yesterday. A silly thing, really, to argue about the roses. They were beautiful, weren't they? Perfect blush pink against the green, a little bit wild, exactly how you liked them. But then you said “too much” and well...that was that.
Now there’s this stillness, of course. Always a stillness. Just us, the fireplace, the scent of woodsmoke and faint perfume. And your gaze, stillholds us. A touch too hesitant, maybe. Like you're not entirely sure we belong here, even though weve been here every night since...well, since everything fell apart. Which it did, didn't it? No need to name it, not yet.
Your eyes are searching ours, aren’ed they? Like you're wondering if we remembered the way to hold each other. If we still know how. See, we were thinking about that once—how easily it used to be. Now its more like a puzzle.
So, go ahead. Look at us. Doesn’t mean much, does it? Maybe nothing ever did. Just try not to blink.”
To help us refine the piece, here are some questions to consider:
- What type of imagery would best accompany the text – a cozy living room, a windswept garden, etc.?
- How casual or formal should our tone be?
Let us know what you think! Would you like us to set the scene, give us feedback, or suggest variations on the dialogue? Let the feelingment begin!
