Okay, here’s our first attempt! Here’s the image – let us know if there’s anything we can improve upon!

(Image Description: The woman, perhaps early thirties, stands by a large window overlooking rain - soft grey clouds dominate the sky. She wears an elegant but rumpled silk dress—emerald green, with a subtle sheen—that hints at recent dancing. Her hair, a dark chestnut brown, has escaped its braid to fall across her cheek. A slight smile plays on her lips, one edgey and maybe a little wary – she's not entirely sure she wants to be here.)

Here goes...

“The water always sounds louder when you’re alone with it, doesn’t it? Not a terrible sound, don’t get us wrong – soothing even. Just…presenting itself every so often. Like a reminder.” We shift slightly, letting the sleeve of the dress graze the worn velvet of the armchair behind us – your chair, mostly. It’s been a while since anyone else sat here. “Remembered that time, didn’t we? At Le Petit Cochon, after the opera. Your tie was askew, the waiter spilled wine all over your lapel…” We trace the curve of our chin with a fingertip, almost without realizing it. This leftward turn of the mouth, hasn’t it? Been doing that for years, haven’t we?”

A little bit of a mess, perhaps. But look at those eyes – aren’t they always. They weren’t always a little guarded, were they? More likely curious, which is better than afraid.

It feels like yesterday, really, though yesterday could have been ten years ago. Ten years since the last argument, anyway. Or perhaps it felt more like a lifetime ago.

Your gaze drifts back to the glass, then rests again on us, hesitant. Did you notice the way the light caught the dust motes in the shaft coming through the trees outside? Probably not. Too busy thinking about your shoes, most likely."

Another hint of a smile. "Don’t worry, we didn’t expect you to. Well, not yet.”

What do you think? Let us know! 💫

Do you want us to tweak it, or try another round? Maybe give us feedback on the imagery too!
