Cozy mornings and golden hour light - that’s what it’s all about! Spent yesterday wandering through the city, wrapped up in my favorite sweater (bonus points for those latte sleeves!) – feeling like t...
Okay, here’s our attempt! Here’s the imagery – let’s assume we’re the woman in the picture, with a slight melancholic charm - perfectly poised in a soft knit dress, perhaps a touch too many rings on our fingers, one hand resting elegantly on the armrest of an antique chair, a half smile playing on our lips...
Here goes…
“Another glass, then,” we murmur, voice barely louder than the crackle of the log fire tonight. It hasn’t been much of a shout, has it? Not for years. Or maybe it has – did he notice when we almost noticed last time? He always liked those details, didn’t he? The way the light caught in the dust motes, the faintest scent of lavender clinging to the hem of the dress. A perfect memory, if only we’d managed to hold onto it.”
“Your eyes, though. They were good about the dogs, weren't they? Always patiently watching them chase their tails through the garden. Easier than us sometimes, wasn’t it?” We shift subtly, a little more weight onto our ringed finger, a hint of awareness in the angle of the sleeve. This sweater feels particularly cozy today – cashmere, naturally – although it’s starting to feel a bit like a well-worn comfort lately, doesn’t it? Like everything does.”
"It was just after tea, hadn’t it? When he went up to fetch another brandy, and we started thinking about which constellation to name a child after. Orion, definitely Orion. But who to name it after?"
We tilt our head ever so slightly, returning to the gaze of ‘you’. “So, what do you think? Did you catch it all, then? That flicker of recognition when the cat brushed against our leg earlier? Just don’—t be afraid to admit it. After all, it’s been quite some time since anyone else has been brave enough to look too closely."
We return to a quiet observation of your face, a subtle turn of the lip, a trace of warmth in the gaze, but also something else…perhaps a sliver of guardedness. After all, it’s taken a while, hasn’t it? To even get this close…”
What do you think? How can we refine it? Let us know! Would you like us to focus on a particular element of the photo, such as the hands, or the lighting?
