A Negative Space Romance

A Negative Space Romance

The city behind me dissolves into a blur of gray static, a ghostly skyline stripped of its vibrant facade. Here at the edge of the world, everything is reduced to contrast: the stark white collar against my skin and the deep, absorbing void of shadows beneath the skirt's pleats.

I turn slightly, feeling his gaze before I see it—a heavy warmth that defies the cool air filtering through this monochrome landscape. He exists as a silhouette in the negative space between me and the horizon. There is no need for color to define him; the sharp geometry of my profile against the soft light says everything.

In this world without hue, love isn't about what we see, but how much shadow we are willing to fill together.
